What's the most improbable but true thing about you?
Somehow, I have never seen any of the Godfather movies.

Why did you choose to submit to Horror Over the Handlebars?
Kids on bikes is my favorite subset of horror. It, Stand by Me, Summer of Night, give me four kids getting into trouble on summer vacation please.

Tell us a little about your story, “A Home for His Fears” and its genesis.
I really wanted to write a twist on a classic haunted house story. When the submission call came out, I was struggling with anxiety, and thought “What if I was a kid and terrified of everything?” And then it just kind of appeared from there.

Tell us about “Incident at Elderhill Farm” in Horror Over the Handlebars and what you liked about it.
John Opalenik writes a horror-filled story about a group of boys, a slaughterhouse, and a creature that hungers for more. He does a great job of writing a story that hits the “kids on bikes” must-haves and I love the setting.

If you could time travel, where would you go, what would you do, and why would you do that?
Dinosaurs. I would see one, I would pet one, I would likely be killed immediately.

Who would you bring back from the dead for one hour and what would you do with them?
My childhood dog, and I would spend that entire hour telling him what a very good boy he was.

What's your favorite piece of art? Could be music, writing, sculpture, painting...
I could listen to “Once Upon Another Time” by Sara Bareilles until the heat death of the universe and never get tired of it.

What are you most proud of creating?
Every new story I come out with, I’m immediately the most proud of that one. Because I learn something from every one, and each story is at least slightly better than the last thing I created.

What's next on your literary horizon?
I’ve got a few short stories coming out, and a novel I’ve been working on for way too long. I’d love to start putting together a short story collection though, that’s my next goal.

Where can readers connect with you online?
My Instagram is the best place to start. I have links to my other contact methods from there. I’m @thewriterannewoods. I post pictures of food and dogs and a plastic pirate skeleton that sits on my desk named Petey.
